The European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) is a pan-European scientific organization which focuses on research and the advancement of modern artificial intelligence (AI), which relies heavily on machine learning methods such as deep neural networks that allow computers to learn from data and experience. The ELLIS network includes 30 research units in 14 European countries and CIIRC CTU was among the first established at the end of 2019.

The ELLIS unit Prague brings together several lead scientists and their teams with the shared objective to address key scientific challenges in artificial intelligence and to generate innovations with a positive impact on the economy and society.
