Do you have an idea on how to improve the environment at CTU, reduce energy consumption, promote recycling, or make life more pleasant for students and staff? Join the Microgrants for Sustainability call and receive up to 50,000 CZK to implement your project.
The program is open to individuals and teams who want to contribute to the university’s sustainable development and bring concrete improvements to the CTU environment. Applications can be submitted by June 13, 2026 via the online form.
What kinds of projects are eligible for support?
Support will be provided primarily for ideas focused on:
- savings in energy, water, fuel, and single-use plastics,
- improving the quality of drinking water,
- local energy production,
- reducing CO₂ emissions caused by transportation or other activities,
- material reuse (ReUse), recycling, and promoting waste sorting,
- student and employee wellbeing and improving the work and study environment,
- supporting biodiversity,
- neighborhood and community activities,
- preparing follow-up projects and grant applications in collaboration with external partners.
What can the funds be used for?
The microgrant can cover:
- student scholarships,
- staff bonuses,
- material costs approved by the grant office.
The maximum amount of support per project is 50,000 CZK.
Activities carried out between January 1 and November 15, 2026 are eligible for support.
How will projects be evaluated?
When selecting projects, the grant committee will primarily assess:
- the ratio of the project’s impact to its costs,
- long-term benefits and any follow-up costs,
- the originality of the solution,
- the potential for promotion and inspiration for other CTU departments.
Inspiration: from bike racks to water conservation
Examples of projects that may be supported include the production of bike racks from recycled materials, the repair and refurbishment of furniture, the repurposing of discarded building materials, the promotion of walking and cycling, the landscaping of green spaces, the installation of seating for student relaxation, or projects focused on reducing water and electricity consumption.
