“We do not heat the water in the river – if only because the rivers in the Czech Republic are not large enough for us to use them for cooling in this way. Here, cooling takes place in a closed-loop system,” explains nuclear scientist Radek Škoda, who works at the Czech Technical University in Prague – CIIRC, the Technical University of Liberec, and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
