One of the world’s top systems conferences is coming to Prague this fall. SOSP’26, the ACM Symposium on Operating Systems Principles, will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2026 at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague.
SOSP is the world’s premier forum for researchers, developers, programmers, and teachers of computer systems technology, where academic and industrial participants present research and experience papers spanning the full range of theory and practice in computer systems software.
This year the conference is led locally by our colleague Michal Sojka, Head of the Embedded Systems group at CIIRC CTU.
SOSP takes a broad view of systems. Contributions span operating systems, file and storage systems, distributed systems, cloud computing, mobile and edge systems, secure and reliable systems, big data and machine learning at the systems level, embedded and real-time systems, virtualization, networking as it relates to operating systems, and the management and troubleshooting of complex systems.
The program also welcomes work at the intersection of computer systems with architecture, networking, programming languages, analytics, verification, and databases.
In keeping with SOSP tradition, the focus is on work that explores new territory, continues a significant research dialogue, or reflects on experience with or measurements of state-of-the-art implementations.
