The chapter, titled “Applying Industry 4.0 Principles to Smart and Resilient Cities,” shows how Industry 4.0 principles – digital twins, multi-agent systems, IoT, and AI – extend beyond the factory floor to shape the smart, resilient cities of tomorrow.

The chapter emphasizes the importance of improving cities’ ability to respond to disruptions, strengthen resilience, and support sustainable development through intelligent, data-driven management.
