Important robotic mission of CIIRC to Japan

In the week of April 3-7, 2017, a robotic mission to Japan took place to expand scientific cooperation in Industry 4.0 domain and to establish closer contacts with the similar Japanese initiative “Robotic Revolution Initiative”. The mission explored the expertise of CTU CIIRC in the domain. Participants visited robotic teams at the Universities of Tsukuba and Nagoya, the government research institute AIST in Tsukuba, the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo (there has been a cooperation agreement with CTU since 2009), as well as research headquarters of Toyota and Mitsubishi Electric. Part of the mission was the preparation of a joint applied research program between the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Japanese agency NEDO. The head of the mission Prof. Vladimír Mařík, the former Ambassador to Japan K. Žebrakovský accompanied by the current Czech Ambassador to Japan T. Duba were invited to visit Her Imperial Highness Princess Hisako Takamado, who showed a particular interest in the development of Japan-Czech academic cooperation and pledged their support to joint Czech-Japanese professional events.
