According to the ranking of the best institutions in the field of Computer Science, computer scientists from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering CTU and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics CTU are placed among the European top leaders in selected fields. In the field of Computer Vision, in the evaluation of scientific results, researchers from the FEE CTU and the CIIRC CTU in the period from 2018 to 2023 rank among the five best European workplaces.
Computer scientists from the two above mentioned parts of the CTU also achieve excellent results in the field of robotics, where they are ranked seventh in Europe. In competition with the best European universities, they are also gaining ground in the field of Economics & Computation, where they are placed 16th and in artificial intelligence 42nd.
CSRankings is a ranking of the best institutions in the field of computer science worldwide, based on the ranking of the number of publications in the top scientific conferences of the field.

Based on an internationally recognized comparison, the FEE CTU and the CIIRC CTU have long been the best workplaces in the Czech Republic in the field of informatics and robotics; no other scientific institution from the Czech Republic has achieved a ranking in the top ten in CSRankings.
Prof. Matas is the best-rated computer scientist from the Czech Republic
According to the international ranking Research.com, which evaluates the success of computer scientists based on their H-index, citations and the number of documents collected by December 21, 2022, similarly to last year, the best-rated Czech computer scientist is prof. Jiří Matas from the Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University.
The success of CTU is underlined by the fact that it has three representatives among the first four scientists in the Czech ranking – dr. Josef Šivic (CIIRC CTU) is the second and doc. Tomáš Pajdla (CIIRC CTU and FEE CTU) fourth. In the top ten of the Czech ranking, dr. Tomáš Mikolov (CIIRC CTU) on the seventh and dr. Torsten Sattler (CIIRC CTU and FEL CTU) on tenth place. Prof. Ondřej Chum (FEE CTU) and dr. Josef Urban (CIIRC ČVUT) then figure in the second ten on fourteenth and seventeenth place respectively.
