The Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) is the associate investigator of EERA_CZ project. This project enables participation of Czech research organizations in the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and consequently their possible participation in consortia of the Horizon 2020 programme, which are co-created within this alliance. By the participation in the joint programmes of EERA, the members can influence priorities of the European energy research and also can have an impact on the calls of the Horizon 2020 and EURATOM programmes.
The project creates a specific structure including a network of coordinators of individual fields of energy research areas as are set in the EERA joint programmes. The knowledge transfer supported by the activities of the structure increases researchers’ awareness of the positive aspects of the EERA membership. By the linkage to the centers founded from the structural funds, the project has impact on their connection to the European research community and consequently on their sufficient financing and research excellence conducted there.
ČVUT represents the Czech Republic in the joint programme on Smart Cities. The principal investigator at ČVUT is Petr Kadera. Within the framework of this project, several seminars and a workshop will be organized. The first seminar will take place at TU Ostrava in April 2016. In May 2016, a workshop will take place at ČVUT and the next seminar will be organized again jointly with TU Ostrava but will be hosted by ČVUT in Prague in October 2016.
