The group named Robotic perception (ROP) is interested mainly in computer vision, also in tactile perception for robotic manipulation and, in a lesser degree, in other sensory modalities. In computer vision, we deal with image segmentation based on the graph optimization, with video sequence analysis, with object detection in images and video, i.e. for application in automotive transportation both in observing moving cars and looking out of the car. The other area of interest is the vision-based quality check for industry. In robotic applications, we are interested in the situation awareness around a mobile robot (project TRADR), in autonomous cars (project UP-Drive), dual-arm manipulation with soft objects as pieces of a garment (project CloPeMa finished in 2015, followed by the project RadioRoSo) and perception in the Industry 4.0 context.
ROP group follows with the twenty years experience of the Center for Machine Perception, now spanning the Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Robotics and Machine Perception of CIIRC, both part of CTU.
