The AlquistCoder team from the Czech Technical University in Prague has once again advanced to the shortlist of the prestigious international Amazon Nova AI Challenge, which focuses on the development of safe and reliable AI agents for software engineering. This achievement builds on the team’s successful participation last year, when it earned an excellent second place. In 2025, the competition focused on secure code generation and the identification of vulnerabilities in AI systems.

This year’s edition raises the bar significantly. Competing teams are developing AI agents capable of independently planning, implementing, and verifying multi-step changes in large-scale software projects, all while maintaining high security standards. For the first time in the history of the academic competition, students have access to the Amazon Nova Forge tool, which enables deep customization of state-of-the-art language models and their training in secure development scenarios.

Ten university teams from five countries were selected for this year’s competition, with AlquistCoder being the only representative from the Czech Republic. The challenge will run until autumn 2026, and all participating teams will publish their results in the form of academic papers focused on responsible AI development.

More information and further details are coming soon.
