Abstract:

The project logically follows on the robotized welding, coating and finishing technological cell application solution implemented by LaserTherm. These types of single-purpose work stations are typically part of manufacturing lines where they repeatedly carry out the same operation on one part or units of produced parts. Special individual programs are created and tailored to the part and work station for this well-known portfolio. If we take into account modern manufacturing requirements, product customization per customer requirements and completion of the entire process in compliance with the Industry 4.0 initiative, we need to introduce the universal work station concept. This type of work station cannot be tied to the shape, size or deformation of the processed part but must allow for throughput of a wide range of parts of an identical nature under known technological conditions. From an economic and marketing perspective, this type of work station enables unit production at serial manufacturing cost.

This project is supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic within the programme National Centres of Competence 1: Support programme for applied research, experimental development and innovation.
