Despite the challenging current situation, many people in manufacturing companies are thinking about how to prepare their production for the future full-scale. The issue of efficient use of production capacity (available time) of machinery is one of the major issues addressed by the management of each manufacturing company. After all, the machine earns only if it works according to the specified requirements.

The joint team of CIIRC CTU and SIDAT, spol. s r. o., together with the subsidiary company SIDAT Digital, organized a webinar for invited participants from manufacturing companies, where practical demonstrations of the connection of CNC machines to the data collection system were introduced. Furthermore, examples of how to further process the data and transform it into information were presented. The professional webinar was attended by more than twenty participants who after getting acquainted with the SIDAT, SIDAT Digital and CIIRC CTU solutions could participate in the subsequent discussion and provide valuable comments for further development.

An use case of the connection of production machines in the CTU laboratory to the SIDAT MES system can be seen in this video:

The webinar was organized within the framework of the Cluster 4.0 project.

The aim of the project „Cluster 4.0 – Methodology of System Integration“ („Cluster 4.0“) is the establishment and development of the intersectoral cooperation, based on the mutual understanding and interests between innovative companies, global industrial stakeholders and academia oriented to technical areas. The collaboration with industrial companies on research projects enables not only realisation of research tasks using real data and progressive production technologies. Moreover, manufacturing companies put pressure on necessary efficiency in research, based on high demands on shorttime flexible production cycles. The consortium of the Cluster 4.0 project and its members from the leading research institutes – CIIRC CTU at the Czech side, DFKI at the German side, and innovative industrial companies, Sidat and CertiCon, bring together with the support of the transnational corporations – Airbus Group, Škoda Auto and Simens, and with a direct link to a dynamically developing National Center of Industry 4.0 the new quality for the development of intersectoral cooperation in the area of Industry 4.0.

The SIDAT, spol. s r. o. is a traditional Czech company operating in the industrial automation market as a system integrator since as early as 1990. It is involved into the Cluster Project as an external industrial partner and it’s role is to verify the proposed parameters of overall production efficiency in a practical deployment.

Project CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_026/0008432 „Cluster 4.0 – System Integration Methodology” is supported by the European Structural and Investment Funds and the Operational Program Research, Development and Education through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
