On 27 February 2019, a one-day symposium of the CLAIRE AI initiative was held in Rome. It brought together 100 carefully selected participants from academia, industry and public administration, including selected top AI researchers. The goal of the symposium was to discuss and further develop the main components and strategy to continue the transition of CLAIRE from a grass-roots initiative into a fully operational, fully funded, pan-European organization. In accordance with that a new CLAIRE office in Prague was announced, following the CLAIRE Headquarters in Hague (Netherlands) and offices in Oslo (Norway), Rome (Italy) and Saarbrücken (Germany). The Prague office will be headed by Dr. Vít Dočkal. It will be closely involved in CLAIRE’s engagement with industry and in supporting the AI ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe.
