The future of production is in team robotics, says Professor Wolfgang Wahlster, who introduced the concept of Industry 4.0 almost 10 years ago. Automation and artificial intelligence are key, but robots will not replace us. The human hand is still irreplaceable – number of robots will grow, but they will work together with people. For example, in a team one person will cooperate with several robots, the professor predicts. This will also enable large factories to return to cities, operate more efficiently and produce less emissions.
