The development of artificial intelligence is bringing about fundamental changes that will affect every individual and transform society. AI should play an important role in the path to increased education, productivity and competitiveness. It will also play a vital role in the use of leisure time. But it is conditional on a secure digital space and the protection of our own data. These and many other topics will be the focus of the SOCAIETY 2050: Quo vadis homo conference, which takes place on 19 November at Žofín in Prague. The conference is organised by the Vize 2050+ Foundation and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the CTU with the support of the Rector of the CTU in Prague. The conference is under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda. The speakers will include leading experts in the field – Michal Pěchouček, Vladimír Mařík, Tomáš Mikolov, Marek Rosa and Sara Polak. Guests can look forward to panel discussions, interactive workshops, AIBOT-FEST or innovative AI-driven art installations.
SOCAIETY 2050 Conference | Quo vadis homo? will take guests not only into the near future of 2050, but will also cover a range of topics that affect everyone: security, government and its digitalization, education, industry, the use of robots and chatbots, individual and societal resilience, energy and much more. Not only the intensive discussions with the panellists on the issues of (in)control of humans by artificial intelligence, but also the case studies will help to create a comprehensive picture. Discussions will include meeting entrepreneurs who have successfully deployed AI and examples of AI and robotics applications.

The robots look almost like humans, we learn to talk to avatars, and we get the feeling that we are seriously communicating with them and understanding each other. Often better than with family members. We look for new virtual friends in the endless virtual space and create our improved, sometimes much worse, digital selves in it, “ says Michal Postránecký, an urban planner and director of the Centre for the City of the Future at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University. „The conference will help us think about what situations we can actually solve with artificial intelligence and what situations we need to deploy the natural intelligence that was given to us at birth,“ Postránecký adds.
The SOCAIETY 2050 conference will feature presentations by the most prominent experts on artificial intelligence and its application in the Czech Republic. Among the keynote speakers will be Vojtěch Petráček, Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague, who will offer his vision of the digitalization of higher education. Tomáš Mikolov and Jan Šedivý, leading scientists from CIIRC CTU and experts in generative AI, will discuss the future of AI and its impact on productivity. Michal Pěchouček from FEL CTU will focus on secure digital development and data protection. Eva Kyselová from KPMG will explain the AI Act. Eminent tech anthropologist Sara Polak will discuss the resilience of individuals and society in the AI era. Radko Sáblík, Director of Smíchov Secondary School of Industry, will present the role of AI in secondary education. A keynote lecture on Industry 4.0 and robotics will be delivered by Vladimír Mařík, Scientific Director of CIIRC CTU, whose perspective on AI and robotics in industry offers practical applications in the current and future world.
The conference is intended especially for professionals – business owners and managers, directors and executives in the field of public administration, digital agenda, etc. The conference also includes the AIBOT-FEST event (Small and Knights Hall), where we invite mainly high school and university students.
