Alquist team won Project of the Year AI Award

Alquist team represented by Jan Pichl, Petr Marek, Jakub Konrád, Martin Matulík and Petr Lorenc won Project of the Year 2018 AI Award presented in the field of artificial intelligence.

The CTU team has twice placed second in the prestigious Amazon Alexa Prize contest with its Alquist chatbot project. In the AI Awards finals the Alquist team competed against Machine Learning Meetups (MLMU) which is a meeting platform dedicated to machine  learning and the Shelf Inspector project which analyses shelves with goods in stores.

AI Awards are organized by Economia media house and AI Startup Incubator and aim to raise awarness about acomplishments in the field of artificial intelligence. Other contest categories included Personality of the Year, Student of the Year, Idea of the Year, Event of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Company of the Year and Special Prize for Bringing International Awarness to the Czech Republic. Winners in each category were selected by a jury compiled from representatives of business as well as academic fields.

The award ceremony took place on April 30, 2019 in Microsoft offices in Prague.
