Listen to the interview with Václav Křemen on Český Rozhlas. Václav Křemen talks about the following topics:

Electrical stimulation of the brain: A method using implanted electrodes that stimulate specific brain centers. It is mainly intended for patients for whom pharmacological treatment is not working or surgery is not possible.

Development of neurostimulators: Brain stimulators, originally developed for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, are now also being used to treat epilepsy and psychiatric diseases. New technologies, such as light-charged neurostimulators, are under development.

The role of artificial intelligence (AI): AI is key in diagnosing and analysing patient data, especially for Alzheimer’s disease, and helping to detect the disease in its early stages. AI can significantly reduce the cost of data processing in biomedicine.

Supercomputer in Ostrava: This powerful tool supports the CLARA project, which aims to diagnose and treat neurodegenerative diseases by analysing large datasets.

Predictive medicine: the aim is to develop methods to predict the course of disease and personalise treatment.
