  • July 13-14, 2018 – CIIRC CTU team led by Dr. Josef Urban of the AI4REASON project won in two divisions of the 2018 World Championship for Automated Theorem Proving held in Oxford, U.K. More details.
  • July 3, 2018 – Both CTU and CIIRC passed the final inspection test successfully. The appropriate approval was granted to CTU. This step completed the (hard) construction phase of CTU CIIRC project. The (soft) scientific phase will be running till 2020. Then it will be followed by a 10 years sustainibility period, i.e. up to the year 2030.
  • June 4, 2018 – CTU Rector doc. Vojtěch Petráček removed unexpectedly Prof. V. Mařík from CIIRC CTU director position.
  • May 23, 2018 – Opening of the Center of City of the Future in CIIRC.
  • April 11, 2018 – Team from CTU won an international competition of models of autonomous cars.
  • March 29, 2018 – CIIRC becomes a partner in the new PRAIRIE Institute in Paris.
  • January 29, 2018 – Testbed for Industry 4.0 and National Center for Industry 4.0 opened to public.
  • December 26, 2017 -Josef Šivic was awarded Two prizes  in 2017.
  • November 11, 2017 – The success of the CTU team under the leadership of Jan Šedivý – they bring the second place from The Alexa Prize final
  • September 20, 2018 –  Czech-Japanese Technology partnership workshop.
  • September 4, 2017 – CIIRC started three important activities at the beginning of the academic year.
  • May 31, 2017 – Most of CIIRC employees and labs works already in two new buildings CTU CIIRC in Dejvice campus of CTU.
  • May 11, 2017 – Prof. Vladimír Kučera resolved a long-standing open problem of linear systems theory – decoupling.
  • May 2, 2017 – The festive opening of CTU CIIRC brand new building in CTU Dejvice campus. The Prime minister of the Czech Republic and the President of the Czech Republic participated.
  • April 19, 2017 First CIIRC labs moved into a new CTU CIIRC buildings in Dejvice.
  • March 13, 2017 – CIIRC won an important project RICAIP (its phase 1) which will help the Industry 4.0 initiative.
  • August 25, 2016 – The German Chancellor Ms. Angela Merkel and the Czech Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka visited CTU on August 25, 2016 in Prague to discuss Industry 4.0 issues. The distinguished visitors witnessed the cooperation agreement signature between the German Institute for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) represented by its director Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster and CTU CIIRC director Prof. Vladimír Mařík.
  • August 24, 2016 – The Government of the Czech Republic approved the National Initiative Industry 4.0 at its meeting. The document was prepared by the team of authors led by CTU CIIRC director Prof. V. Mařík.
  • November 24, 2014 – The foundation stone of the CTU CIIRC buildings was laid down festively.
     
  • October 10, 2014 – The building contract for two CTU CIIRC buildings was signed with two companies Hochtief CZ a VCES.
  • September 23, 2014 – The investment intent formal request was submitted to  the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT).
  • September 22, 2014 – The decision of the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) was altered  by the Czech Government resolution No. 779. It was decided that the construction part of the project will be financed from the Czech Government budget directly. This underlined the importance of the CTU CIIRC project from the whole country point of view. The Czech Government resolution simplified the construction from the CTU viewpoint. It made it more complicated for the realization team.
  • July 11, 2014 – The selection of the CTU CIIRC buildings contractors was finalized, i.e. consortium of companies Hochtief CZ a VCES. On June 25, 2014, the Prague 6 Building Authority issued the building permit to construct two CTU CIIRC buildings in Prague 6, Dejvice in Jugoslávských partyzánů street.
  • May 7, 2014 – The Deputy Minister of the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) Ms. Petra Bartáková announced that the project CTU CIIRC received a full funding from the Operational Programme VaVpI. The formal approval of the project proposal is from May 21, 2014.
  • January 6, 2014 – The proposal of the project CTU CIIRC was submitted to the Prague Call of VaVpI. Successful proposal will be financed from the Structural funds of the European Commission.
  • August 2013 – The Prague Call of the Operational Programe VaVpI was made public.
  • July 1, 2013 – The CTU Rector Prof. V. Havlíček established CIIRC as the University institute. CIIRC CTU starts developing in a temporary space.
  • May 2013 – The Czech Republic received the European Commission approval to the so called Prague call of the Operational Programme Science, Research and Innovation (VaVpI). The convincingness of CIIRC project proposal also contributed to it.
  • April 24, 2013 – Academic Senate of CTU approved the CTU Rector Václav Havlíček proposal to establish a new university institute, the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics (CIIRC) according to §34 of the Czech University Act.
  • February 6, 2013 – The Deputy Minister of the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) Mr.  Michal Zaorálek requests European Commission to approve so called Prague Call (CZK 2.5 billions).
  • November 24, 2012 – The project CIIRC CTU was presented to management of the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) as the initial request to obtain financial support from the European Commission Structural Funds for Prague.
  • 2012 – CIIRC CTU project was introduced to the discussion at many places at CTU.
  • June 11, 2010 – CTU proposal to build the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of Antonín Svoboda was submitted within the European Commission Operational programme Prague – Competitiveness. CZK 300 million support was promised. However, the project was not conducted.
  • 2009 – CZK 600 million was transferred to the Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) budget intended for the Building A construction. Finally, CZK 104.5 million was transferred by MŠMT to CTU in December 2009.
  • May 28, 2009 – Another presentation of CIIRC project to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mr. Mirek Topolánek.
  • June 24, 2008 – The idea of creating CIIRC CTU was introduced to the Academic Senate of CTU. It was received positively.
  • June 17, 2008 – The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mr. Mirek Topolánek visited CTU. He learned more in details about the project CIIRC CTU.

  • Feb 17, 2008 – The first negotiation of Prof. Vladimír Mařík, the head of CIIRC team and that time the head of the Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering CTU and the Minister of Education of the Czech Republic Ms. Miroslava Kopicová with the Prime Minister Mr. Mirek Topolánek. CIIRC idea was introduced to the Prime Minister.
