The year 2024 is slowly coming to an end. It has brought not only new challenges, but also many opportunities to look back, and we have a chance to take stock of all that has been accomplished and achieved at our institute this year. We are delighted that in 2024 our researchers have been widely recognised, whether it is the Industry 4.0 Award, the Technology Transfer Award, Jan Bureš Award or the AI Award, for example, or the receipt of various grants.
- Werner von Siemend Award for Industry 4.0 for Erik Derner
- The Bricklaying robot project receives second place in the technology transfer award
- Anton Bushuiev, PhD student at CIIRC CTU, together with the „Protein-AI“ team won first place at the Sciencepreneurshop Summer School in Switzerland
- Milan Němý from CIIRC získal received the MUDr. Jan Budeš award for research in the field of Alzheimer disease
- Martin Suda’s Vampire automated prover scores another success at the World Championship in Automated Proving
- Czech Technical University in Prague, Charles University, Palacký University, Masaryk University, CTK and Demagog.cz received a CZK 175m grant to develop and use AI tools to fight disinformation
- Paper Co-Authored by Torsten Sattler from CIIRC received the prestigious CVPR 2024 Award for the Best Student Paper
- Prestigious grants GA ČR for Josef Urban a Milan Němý
- Tomáš Mikolov received the AI Awards 2024 for his long term contribution in the field of AI
- Silver medal of the President of the Senat for Tomáš Mikolov
Events 2024
Events for the public
We did not shy away from organising events for the public, where we conveyed science to young and old in a digestible and entertaining way. Through interactive demonstrations, lectures and experiential activities, we tried to bring complex scientific concepts to the general public. These events played a key role in popularising science and inspiring a new generation, with an emphasis on passing knowledge on and showing how science affects everyday life.

Partnership 2024
For CIIRC CTU, the year 2024 was marked by a significant expansion of international and interdisciplinary cooperation. We appreciate every opportunity to join forces with prestigious institutions and experts from various fields. At the same time, we are actively strengthening our cooperation with rapidly developing Asian countries
- Vladimír Mařík and Ondřej Velek part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Fiala to Jaipur, India
- CIIRC now part of TAH: a significant milestone for interdisciplinary cooperation in the Czech Republic
- Ondřej Velek discussed Industry 4.0 in Azerbaijan
- Latvian state representatives visited the premises of RICAIP Testbed Prague at CIIRC CTU on the occasion of an official meeting with CTU Rector Vojtech Petrackek and CIIRC CTU Director Ondřej Velek.
- CTU intends to cooperate closely with South Korea in research, today the Memoranda of Cooperation were signed
- Japanese delegation visited CIIRC CTU and discussed cooperation in the research
