The brain is not a computer and superintelligence is science fiction

The biggest recent attempts to simulate the human brain have ended in failure. All computers today are just Turing machines in terms of computer theory, and therefore their architecture will not stand up to the task of self-improving AI. The goal of a general AI to match human AI is therefore unattainable by current means.
