The vision of RoboTwin is to make automation of specialised jobs finally efficient with smart robot teaching. The pilot use-cases are jobs in industrial spray painting.
RoboTwin is an automation based on motion tracking and imitation. It is a set of hardware and software that tracks a worker’s motion, extracts his know-how, and generates an optimal robot program automatically. The Worker demonstrates on the first product how it should be painted and RoboTwin automatically uses this template to teach the robot. All the other products in the series are painted by the robot and the result is as good as when the painter does it himself.
RoboTwin is the ticket to sustainable future manufacturing. It reduces safety and health hazards at workplaces and introduces collaborative automation. Most importantly, it digitalizes employees’ skills and know-how, which is the key step towards competitive manufacturing in the digital age.
