Educators and students from the Department of Natural Sciences FBMI CTU and the Department of Cognitive Systems and Neuroscience CIIRC CTU prepared at the CIIRC workplace in Prague Dejvice as part of the summer camp for children from Ukraine – Science for children a program for 31 children familiarizing them with the use of technology in biology and medicine, and with the development in artificial intelligence and robotics.
At individual stations, groups of the same age took turns, always together with an interpreter from among the Ukrainian students of CTU, and the children tried out some work procedures or measurements. The stand demonstrating the field of artificial intelligence and communication with a small robot, for which tasks were prepared by our French interns Emma Lucas and Melanie Rihouey from ISEN Brest, was met with great enthusiasm. At the optical microscopy station, the children prepared and observed their own microscopic preparations, and at the biotelemetry systems station, under expert supervision, they measured the representation of bone and muscle mass, water and fat in their own body.
