How to simplify the planning of operations in hospitals, maximize capacities and therefore shorten waiting times for surgery, but at the same time ensure that there are no collisions? In most Czech workplaces, operational plans are still drawn up by people. A new algorithm using machine learning was prepared in cooperation with the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové. The algorithm also takes into account acute changes and can immediately recalculate the planned solution.

Přemysl Šůcha, head of the optimization group, CIIRC CTU, in whose group the solution was developed, and Pavlína Koutecká, the scientist who worked on the solution, talk about the topic in the Czech Radio Plus report.
