The third conference of the Engineering Forum 2017 cycle entitled DIGITALIZATION – the way to increase efficiency of production processes was held on 15 November, 2017 at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC) CTU in Prague. The event took place in synergy with the ARaP 2017 Conference. The main focus of the conference was the current trend of digital transformation of production processes as well as of all corporate and extra-industrial processes related to industrial production. The one-day expert meeting consisted of morning and afternoon lecture blocks and excursions.
During the morning session, experts focused on the strategic and developmental area of the issue and talked about both the general understanding of the concept of digitization and the current and possible future course of this process in Czech companies. IPA (Industrial Production and Automation) CIIRC was presented by Petr Kolář with the lecture titled Industry 4.0 – selected examples of applications in machine tools in the Czech Republic. The block was closed by the business discussion panel, giving participants the opportunity to ask the speakers specific questions.
The afternoon part of the conference was devoted to practical demonstrations of individual partner companies whose representatives demonstrated their solutions. This afternoon block also provided space for discussion at the end.
